GENERAL CONFERENCE SUNDAY

It's been a pleasant Sunday. We listened to Conference today and it was so good. Then, having found out that the train does not run on Sunday--we took a drive to Provo to return Julie to school. Lol! It never occurred to any of us that the train might not run on Sunday--but it makes sense. Not much is open around here so why would the train run. We packed some sandwiches and chips and took a nice, Sunday drive. The kids are always sad when Julie has to go home but at least they got to help take her there this time.

We stopped at Aunt Susan's to drop something off for Grandma and Grandpa before we came back and we also stopped to see our friend Venice, who was recently widowed. Venice has been a part of my life an heart for nearly thirty years. She is one of the neatest people I know and I have loved her from the moment I met her. She is truly one of my dearest friends.

It was good to see her and find that she is doing fairly well. I have been worrying about her and hoping she wasn't feeling too alone. She and her husband had been married for more than sixty years. That is a long time to be with someone to just suddenly have them gone from your life. She was glad to see us -- and the kids. They gave her hugs and kisses and I hear that cheers up all Grandma's!

Here are a couple of pictures we took while we were there.
