OUR NATION, FUNDAMENTALLY TRANSFORMED IN THE BEST AND MOST IMPORTANT WAY.

Proud mama moment. On the way to school today, out of nowhere my little girl piped up and said, "I'm going to be the first black, woman president!" Not to be outdone my little boy said, "Well, I'm gonna run for president too!" To which my little little girl responded, "Hey, and Taya will vote for us! OH NO! What if Taya wants to run too? Then there will be three of us? How will that work? Who will vote for us?" Lol!

I will baby girl, I will -- for both of you! (I was responding through the whole conversation. My words are not as interesting or cute as theirs, though.)

A minute of silence passes and then my daughter asks how old you have to be to run for president. When I tell her 35, I get a simple frustrated grunt. Guess she was planning on a more near in the future Presidency. She probably wants a platform that gets rid of homework and lengthens recesses. Lol.

But seriously, I'm so grateful to live in a time when it has never entered my children's head that the Presidency is off limits to them for any reason. Yes, they will have their battles along the way but hard things, giant things are possible if they work hard for them.

I am grateful for the Obama Presidency, regardless of what his legacy ends up being or what historians decide to write. It's so much bigger than any of that -- It made ALL things truly seem and feel possible for those who had been shut out and kept out for entire lifetimes. I pray my children, in fact, all children and all people will see each other with more humanity and more humility as we go forward with more open hearts, compassion and love for one another. Just as our Savior would ask of us.

Just my mom thoughts this morning.
