To Dream the Impossible Dream

Tonight Julie was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. We are very proud. It was a nice ceremony--as ceremonies go. There were several youth speakers, a candle ceremony, a keynote speaker . . . here's where it gets interesting. The keynote speaker was going along pretty well when all of the sudden he decided to break into song--unaccompanied. He sang us the impossible Dream. It was a little bit strange-I must admit. Keep in mind he's speaking to 8th and 9th graders and their parents. I mean, he had a decent voice and all--but I'm telling you he went out on a limb. The kids were good--no one lost it. He's lucky they were honor students. Any other students would have been snickering, giggling and rolling on the floor. Hmmm. Maybe that's why I was never an honor student.
