Two reasons. Jonathon is responding to the antibiotics. He sounds so much better. You can't hear his breathing from the other room anymore. You can't feel it in his chest when you're holding him. He's not hacking up a lung. In fact, he's not coughing at all anymore and he acts like he's feeling better, too. Yay! So, the doctor's guess of a secondary infection and trying the antibiotics was a great guess! We are so thankful for all the prayers and blessings! Yay!
Reason two. Dad spent most of the afternoon and evening upstairs with the family. We watched the Superbowl together--as disappointing as the outcome was. Dagnabit! It's so nice to have him back upstairs with us again and a part of things.
Although, some of you probably need to call and give him a bit of a hard time. He has been really trying to lose weight before his surgery which is a good thing. However, he is down to 249/50 which was his goal and he is continuing to diet. And when I say diet, I mean he tries to only eat two small meals a day. So, I keep having to talk to him about the importance of keeping his strength up and eating 3 meals a day even if they are not large ones. He just needs to keep some protein and veggies in his system. He just isn't as strong right now as he needs to be and it worries me.
Well, that's been our day and it was pretty darn good. Hope yours was too!
