OUR EASTER MIRACLE!

Well, it may not have been a major miracle but it sure felt like one. Jonathon has been in the hospital again for the last few days. He had a quick flu come on and his breathing issues hit him quickly and down he went. It all happened so fast. So, we have been living at the hospital with him and he is just old enough this time to have an opinion about the place. You guessed it--HE HATES IT! Poor little guy was getting poked and pricked and filled full of all kinds of meds. Just when it looked like we were going to have to stay for a third day the doctor came in and let us go home. Jonathon was so happy to have all the tubes and restraints removed he was running up and down the hospital halls (not good for the lungs, but apparently good for the spirits!)

We couldn't get him to eat or drink much in the hospital but since returning home we are starting to see his appetite return. Yay! Now, to get some sleep. ~ Snore :)

SATURDAY, IN THE PARK . . .

Had a lazy kind of Saturday. Rob was out of town working until this evening. I slept in really LATE. Julie was an angel and watched the little ones this morning so I could. I had a couple of nights earlier this week when I only got 2 or 3 hours of sleep and I was so completely wasted.

This evening after Rob got home, we let him VEG and Julie and I took Carly and Jonathon to the Duck Park and let them feed the ducks. It was the first time they had ever done that and it was really cute to watch them. They LOVED it!

Grandma and Grandpa are doing much better except for the occasional coughing fit. They even sound like themselves again! I think other than being worn out, all of us are feeling better.

Well, better head to bed so I can get myself up in the morning. Take care, N.

I HATE IT WHEN . . .

the toddler gets smarter than you. I took the little ones downstairs tonight to play in the family room. We bought them some jump balls. You know, the big balls you can sit on that have a handle to hold onto and you bounce on them. They weren't called that when I was a kid but they were fun. Anyway, Carly asked if I could put a movie on for her to watch while she played. Sure, why not.

Okay, so I've never been very adept with electronic or technical things. Basically, if it has a plug you'd better ask someone else for help. But, over the years I have learned to handle a TV remote or two. I turned the T.V. on for her and, of course, it can't be simple. Someone had been playing a game or watching a DVD and didn't turn it back to the T.V. channel when they finished, so it wasn't on the right screen or setting. Now I've had to fuss with three blankety-blank remotes to try to figure out how to get it back to the T.V. screen. I punch all the buttons I think I am supposed to but it doesn't move. Crud. No luck. Gah!

Carly asks me what's wrong. I tell her I am working on it. I try again. Nothing is working. She asks again for cartoons. I tell her I'm trying. She looks quizzically at the T.V. and then the remotes and then she says, "Mom, you've got to turn on the Satellite." Didn't this child just barely start speaking in full sentences? I mean, really? Give me a break! Lol!

LONG DISTANCE

Wedding stress is making me crazy! If my posts aren't regular for awhile that's why. Or if I sound frustrated or nutso crazo--again, that's why! Gah! That's all I have to say. Best leave it at that. Hopefully sanity will soon return. :/

FUNNY THING . . .

So my phone imploded last week and I had to have my carrier, I won't name them but I will tell you their initials (Sprint) order a new one. They were great about it and didn't even charge me a deductible because it was such a weird thing that it broke down.

However, something is a little bass-ack-wards with their system. After I picked up my phone and turned it on I noticed I had a new text. I read it and it was from Sprint. (Remember, my old phone is completely dead so there is no way I could have gotten the message.) Here's what the message said:

This is the Sprint store. Your replacement phone has arrived. We are open until 8:00 p.m. Please bring your defective phone with you for the exchange. Thanks.

Ha ha! Good thing I thought to call and see if it was in! Lol! Thanks Sprint!

SLOW FRIDAY

Julie is taking the ACT for real in the morning. No more practice tests. Hopefully she will do well. Wish her luck!

Unfortunately, everyone here is still sick. We will sure be glad when this gomboo has passed. It snowed again today. Unbelievable! We need warm weather. I love snow but I am really tired of it now. It is time for a change of season.

There isn't much to tell here since most of us didn't leave the house today. The only energy in the house comes from our 3 year old and 19 month old. Too bad we can't bottle that energy and share it. If only . . .

Hopefully, more and better news tomorrow. Night.

TODAY (which is yesterday if you're reading this now. Lol!)

Took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese today. Ugh! Although, I must say they loved it! So it was worth it.

Had Rob home sick today along with Grandma and Grandpa still not feeling well at all. Hoping they will all feel a bit better tomorrow.

Went with my friend Robin this evening to get a pedicure. It's been more than a year since I did anything like that. It's very relaxing and I love having French toenails.
Been working on wedding stuff since I got home. Since it's after midnight I had better call it a day. Not much else going on except for the huge snowstorm that has been hitting us since about 5 p.m. Yay! Not! Lol!

MY SWIMMERS AND NEARLY-WEDS

I took Julie, Carly and Jonathon swimming today. We had a good time. I bought Carly and Jonathon some goggles to wear. Julie already had a pair. They had fun wearing them and playing around. Part way through our time swimming, Carly came over and said, "Mommy, would you put my Eye-gles on me? Lol! (Makes sense to me!) "You betcha, honey! I will put your eye-gles on you!"

I would have taken some pictures at the pool but wasn't about to get my cell phone near the water having recently had one melt down due to water damage.

I will leave you with a couple of pics tonight of our "nearly-weds!" These are some of the shots from Stephen and Sara's engagement photo session. Enjoy!

JUST A COUPLE THINGS

This weather is teasing us. The day started with nice Spring weather and cooled from there to expected snow overnight. Al, Oh Al, what happened to the global warming you promised? Gah!

None of the sickies are much better today. I am feeling really bad for all the afflicted since I've recently been there and I am not fully recovered myself. It's just gunky stuff and it makes you feel awful.

Julie and I ventured out to wedding cake shop today. We ended up taking pictures of a bunch of PICTURES of wedding cakes to send to the bride who is four hours away. Long distance planning is for the birds. (You know because they can fly back and forth quickly with the answers. Lol!) Ha! If only!

So much wedding stuff to do and so few days left to do it in! We need a healing angel at our house -- fast, oh, and a little less snow and maybe THE BRIDE to make final decisions! Yep, that's all!

THE HACKERS

Now the whole house is sick, that is except for Julie. Poor Julie, she has to wait on all of us now. :} We are all coughing and running temperatures of one sort or another. Some are starting to recover and some are just starting this nasty crud. Rob came home with a temp of 101.5 today. Grandma and Grandpa saw the doc for it today. Jon, Carly and I are hopefully on the upswing but are still doing a ton of coughing. It's just plain not pleasant. Hopefully, we will stop hacking our lungs out before Spring really kicks into gear. Thank goodness for Julie! And it's Spring Break this week--so she has lots of time to FOCUS on us! Lol!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEGAN!

We celebrated Megan's 24th Birthday tonight. She actually turns 24 tomorrow but we hit it a day early so she could play with friends after work tomorrow. Such be the life of a socialite! Lol!

Rob made some wonderful BBQ'd chicken and instead of a cake, Megan chose to have Fruit Pizza. Julie made it from scratch and it was NUMMY!

All the sickies are still feeling sick. Everyone is a degree or so better but not tons better. We are still hanging in there, though.

We went to sleep last night as it began to snow and woke up to a good dusting of it this morning. It melted off later in the day but is still pretty cold outside.

So how's that global warming thing workin' out for ya, Al? Not so much, eh? Lol!

More later. N.

WE DID IT AND IT WAS FUN!

Well, we actually made it on the right day to the right play group at close to the right time. The kids had a blast and made some new friends--and so did Mommy! It was really nice to talk with other mom's who have adopted and who are on the same pathway we are--even if it's just to give each other advice on doing hair!

Carly and Jon played so nice with their new friends I let them play with some of their neighbor friends after we got home for another hour or so before I put them down to nap. They were pretty happy.

It was such a NICE day here today. The temps were in the 70's. I had the kids in shorts and Carly and I were in sandals. Such a change after having snow last week! I hope we have a little warm weather here to stay, although, I do hope we get some spring weather for a bit instead of going straight into summer.

Grandma is still doing physical therapy for her hip. She had an appointment this afternoon and she does think it's helping a bit.

Unfortunately, with Jonathon, Carly and me all having bad colds this past week Grandpa and Grandma have both come down with them now. Grandma thinks hers has turned into bronchitis, so they will be going to the doctor Monday morning. I feel awful about them getting sick. These nasty germs! So frustrating. Hopefully, they won't be sick long.

Julie is on Spring Break this next week. Yay! Love having her around! More later.
